Dr Deirdre Hughes OBE established ‘DMH & Associates Ltd’ to encourage collaboration and fresh thinking in careers policy, research and practice. This website is aimed at practitioners, researchers, policymakers, employers and educationalists’ keen to share ideas, exchange information and promote high quality careers work at a local, regional, national, European and/or international level.
On the 10th September 2014, the National Careers Council, chaired by Deirdre Hughes, presented to Government an overview of careers provision across England by Local Authority area. The findings show massive variation in careers providers and the services they offer. This has implications for young people and adults accessing local services.
